"El Nuevo Dia" Newspaper puts out their first Plus Size Editorial

I will never forget the date May 24, 2012, history was made in the leading newspaper in Puerto Rico "El Nuevo Dia" for our Plus Size Community, they put their first Plus Size Fashion Editorial in the newspaper. I woke up very early because the Fashion section comes out on Thursdays and there she was, looking beautiful and making me so proud. I had tears in my eyes while I read the article because finally, at this moment I knew that the lives of our Plus Size Models had changed forever in Puerto Rico although we still have a long way to go because there are still people that do not believe that curvy women can be beautiful too.The article was written by Liz Sandra Santiago, I found it to be excellent. The styling was done by Claudia Madrid, and the model Ana Garcia looked fabulous. This was a very emotional day for me because as a Plus Size Advocate in Puerto Rico I know how how hard these Plus Size Models try to get recognized, I talk to them a lot and some get so sad because they want people to notice them and  they tell me that they get bullied sometimes because of their weight..

I find this so mean and vicious but then I feel sorry for the people who do it because I feel that they are the ones with low self esteem! Congratulations Ana Garcia for a job well done, to "El Nuevo Dia" you have all my respect...and now I leave you with my favorite phrase of all times.....Plus is Beautiful!!!!

Girl's Night out event at Ashley Stewart

I had the pleasure to attend the Girls night out event hosted by Ashley Stewart at the Southland mall in Miami. When i first arrived the event was already full of life, lots of laughing and tons of photo taking. I made my way through the entrance and the Lovely Store Manger Cheryl was there to greet me. She pointed me toward the host of the evening Marie Denee from the Curvy Fashionista blog. I am so happy i was able to meet Marie finally, she is a delightful, energetic person. She was giving fashion advice to many of the event attendees.

Hot 105 was there playing great music and giving away door prizes, i met the fabulous Traci Cloyd who was modeling all the awesome clothing from Ashley Stewart.

Ashley Stewart was also hosting a Model Search alot of Fab ladies entered and so did i! Fingers Crossed! 


While at the event i had the privilege to meet  Bonnielee Cuevas from the Glamorosa Adventures of  Bonnielee Cuevas and Dionne Dean from the Prissy Shopper. It was so nice meeting them both!

Fashion Passport Plus Size Edition Update!

Fashion Passport Plus Size Edition is just around the corner in Puerto Rico. There have been some minor changes but it will not affect anyone’s travel plans. The event has been moved to Sunday May 6, 2012 instead of May 5 and it will be at the Sheraton Puerto Rico Convention Center Hotel in San Juan in front of the Convention Center at their beautiful ballroom. Last Saturday was the models first rehearsal, I got the chance to meet the great designer Denisse Hau a very charming lady. Talked with Marilyn Arroyo about the event and she has been working very hard for this event to be a success, she has all my respect it has not been easy, but she promised a great event and I have no doubt in my mind that it will be just that. I got the chance to speak to some of the models, simply beautiful and so sweet. We had a great time, it was the first time they were all together in a room and you could feel the support for one another, that’s what I liked the most. So if you are in Puerto Rico don’t miss this great event on May 6, 2012. I can't wait, because I know it will be amazing
