Make Lipstick Last Longer

1. Use your favorite matte lipstick.

  • Matte lipsticks are not good for dry lips they tend to make them even drier unless you  moisturizes  them. There are some matte lipsticks that are creamy and you can still get the textured look you seek.
2. Put lip balm or lip conditioner on your lips to moisturizes them. ( I learned this from a M.A.C makeup artist)
Here are a couple of lip moisturizers
  • Peter Thomas Roth Lips to Die For Pink Bombshell Lip Balm
  • Korres Pomegranate Lip Butter
  • Philosophy Kiss Me Tonight Intense Lip Therapy
  • Fresh Sugar Plum Lip Treatment
  • Kiss My Face Organic Lip Care
  • Dior Crème de Rose Smoothing Plumping Lip Balm
  • eos Lip Balm in Lemon Drop SPF 15
  • Yes to Carrots C Me Smile Lip Butter
  • Burt's Bees Rejuvenating Lip Balm with Açaí Berry

2. Line your lips with your favorite lip pencil, have the lip pencil be the same shade or similar to avoid changing the lipstick color, and line and  fill in your lips.

3. Take your lipstick and add the color to a lip brush and apply

4. Take a tissue and if it is a two ply just tear it, to get the thiniset and put it over your lips, apply loose translucent powder over your lips with a big powder brush and lightly pat it on. By doing this you pick up some of the oil, any extra color and this makes it super matte.

This is a good tip for the evening as the lips maybe a bit dry.

And a very important tip is to refrain from continually blotting or licking your lips.
